Monday "Hello" (Acoustic Cover)

Good morning!  I'm doing an experiment this week.  Adele's song "Hello" has spawned a number of amazing covers in diverse styles.  So each day this week, I'll be posting a cover of "Hello" in various styles.  First, it's my way of saying "Hello" to you every day.   Second, I think that different musical styles bring a different feel to the song, changing the interpretation.

Here's my favorite parred down version by half of Pomplamoose, Nataly Dawn.

Monday Music: "Material Girl" as a Vintage 1920s Tune

I love the lead singer!!!  She sings, dances, taps, and plays the trombone.  I need that kind of energy on a Monday.

Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo

Okay, so I'm a child of the 80s because I not only remember Pat Benatar, but I know all the words to the songs she sings here even though I haven't heard any of them recently.  I even owned all of her albums on vinyl.

So here is "We Live for Love", "We Belong", and "Promises in the Dark".

Comedy Break - "4 Chords" by the Axis of Awesome

A year or two ago, I heard a funny group sing a song about how most music hits are created with four chords.  The video was taken at a show, so the quality wasn't the best.  But I laughed at the song, and promptly forgot about it.

Fast forward until today - a new video shows up on YouTube's front page.  It's the official music video for "4 Chords".  I watched it again, laughed out loud, and decided that after all the tragedy in the news, maybe we need something funny.

So, without further ado, here is the Axis of Awesome!!!

A Little Music Break

Here's a song in Breton.  For all the Elder Scrolls fans out there, the young lady singing the song lives in northwest France, in an area called Brittany.  Back in the 1500s, this area was considered a Celtic country, and the locals teach their own language, Breton, as well as teaching French.  Personally, I squealed when I learned about Breton, since I like playing a Breton in the Elder Scrolls games.

If you want to learn the lyrics, click "show more" on the uploader comments. She has the lyrics in Breton, French, and English. For more information about Brittany, read this article in Wikipedia.
